Using Raptivity output with PowerPoint

Note: Follow these instructions for the interactivities published with single file output.

You can easily create interactivity using Raptivity and include it in your MS Presentations (Version 2000 and above) using following simple steps:

In Raptivity, ensure that interactivity is published as single file output.

  • Open the PowerPoint presentation in which you want to add the interactivity. Go to the slide where you want to add the interactivity.
  • Open the “Control Toolbox” if not already opened. You can open it by clicking toplevel menu View -> Toolbars -> Control Toolbox or right-click any toolbar, and then click the Control Toolbox shortcut menu.
  • From Control Toolbox, click “More Controls” icon, and from the drop down list select “Shockwave Flash Object”. Place the object at desired location on the slide.
  • Right-click the Shockwave Flash object placed on the slide and then click the “Properties” shortcut menu to display the Properties pane.
  • In the Properties pane, assign the full path of the .swf file to the “Movie” field. E.g. Set the Path as “C:\MySlide\MyAssets\Flashcards.swf”.
  • Ensure that the “EmbedMovie” and “Playing” options in the properties pane are set to true.
  • Run the presentation in slide show view. Before running the presentation ensure that the “Playing” option of the shockwave flash object is set to true.
Inserting Raptivity Interactions in PowerPoint using PowerPoint Add-In

‘Raptivity PowerPoint Add-In’ can be used to easily insert Raptivity interactions in PowerPoint. Here are the details regarding this add-in.

  • Before you begin, ensure that the interaction is published as single flash file output.
  • Open the PowerPoint presentation and go to the slide where you want to add the interaction.
  • Select the Add-Ins tab from the PowerPoint toolbar ribbon.
  • Raptivity PowerPoint Add-In will be displayed with four options: Insert Interaction, Package (With Video), Help and About. Click on Insert Interaction.
  • Once you click on Insert Interaction, a browse window will open up. Select the Raptivity published output file (Flash) from the saved interaction folder on your machine and click on Open. The interaction is now inserted in your presentation.
  • In case your interaction has a video to be played, you need to copy the video present in the interaction to the Microsoft Office folder (The exact location would be displayed as a prompt when you insert a Raptivity interaction with video in PowerPoint.)
  • If you would like to send this PPT which includes interactions with videos, create a package of the same at your desired location by selecting the Package (With Video) option in the Add-In.
Integrating Raptivity Flash (SWF) output with Articulate Storyline

Note: Follow these instructions for the interactivities published with single file output. 

You can easily create interactivity using Raptivity and include it in your Articulate Storyline using following simple steps:

  • Create a new project in Articulate Storyline.
  • Insert slide by clicking on “New Slide” in “Insert” tab
  • When new slide is inserted, click on “Flash” under “Media” section of “Insert” tab to insert swf file generated using Raptivity. (For Articulate storyline 3 : Click on “ insert “ -> “ Video” -> Select “Flash Movie”)
  • It will open dialog box for selection of swf file.
  • Locate Raptivity generated swf file. It is normally stored in “SFO_Publish” of “Publish” folder where Interactivity Model(.int file) is stored.
  • Click on open.
  • Storyline will insert selected flash file into slide.
  • User can preview project. Swf file will get loaded in preview. (For Articulate storyline 3 : The preview does not support)
  • User can publish project in various options like web/LMS/Articulate online/CD/Word by including/excluding HTML5
  • Publishing using web will create html file into specified folder.
Integrating Raptivity HTML5 output with Articulate Storyline

Note: You can include Raptivity’s HTML5 output in Articulate by following these simple steps.

  • Publish the Raptivity interactivity with HTML5 publishing option.
  • Create new project or open existing project in Articulate Storyline.
  • Insert a new slide (or select any slide from existing project).
  • Click on tab ‘Insert’ and then select the ‘Web Object’ under Media.
  • Click on the browse button and select the HTML5 published folder of the Raptivity interactivity.
  • This Web Object control can be resizable. You can adjust the size as per need.
  • Click ‘Ok’ and publish the course.
  • Once done with the publishing. Open the published folder and click on “story.html “file to view the output.
Using Raptivity output with Articulate Presenter ‘13

You can include Raptivity interactions published as single Flash File, in Articulate Presenter by following these simple steps:

Note: In Raptivity, ensure that interactivity is published as single Flash file 

  • Open the PowerPoint presentation in which you want to add the interaction, in Articulate Presenter.
  • Go to the slide where you want to add the interaction.
  • Click on the “ARTICULTE” ribbon tab on the tool bar.
  • Click on “Flash” on the “ARTICULATE” tab ribbon.
  • A dialog box will open for inserting Flash file.
  • Locate Raptivity .swf file. It is normally stored in “SFO_Publish” under “Publish” folder where Raptivity interaction file (.INT) is stored.
  • Select the .swf file and click on Open.
  • Another dialog box will open that will ask you to set preferences on how you want to display and run the Flash file. Set your preferences and click Ok.
  • Articulate Presenter will insert selected flash file into the slide.
  • You can preview the slide by clicking “Preview” on the “ARTICULATE” tab ribbon. .swf file will get loaded in preview.
  • You can publish the presentation in various options like Web, Articulate Online, LMS, CD and Microsoft Word including or excluding HTML5 output. Mark “Include HTML5 output” to let learners view content on mobile devices that don't support Flash.
Integrating Raptivity Flash (SWF) output with Captivate 9

Note: Ensure that Raptivity interactivities to be integrated are published as a Single Flash File output.

You can include Raptivity’s Flash output in Captivate by following these simple steps.

  • Download Animation Widget from the below url and then unzip or extract it:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/files/2010/11/AnimationWidget.zip
  • Start Adobe Captivate 9.
  • Create a ‘New’ project by selecting the ‘Blank Project’ option or open an existing project.
  • Add a ‘Blank Slide’ to insert Raptivity interactivity.
  • Click on the ‘Media’ tab from the Toolbar and then select ‘Animation’ option from the dropdown list.
  • A dialog box will open to browse and select a file. Locate Raptivity .SWF file. It is normally stored in “SFO_Publish_AS3” folder inside the “Publish” folder where Raptivity interactivity file (.INT) has been stored.
  • Select the .SWF file and click on Open. Raptivity interactivity will now get inserted in the slide but it can be played in Captivate’s preview or published output only.
  • You can adjust its position by holding and dragging the interactivity box. You can also adjust its size by holding the corner of the box and dragging it.
  • Make sure you adjust the ‘Timeline’ as per the time required to play the interactivity (at the bottom center).
  • Repeat the procedure from Steps 4 to 9 to insert more Raptivity interactivities.
  • Save the project.
  • To publish it, click on the ‘Publish’ tab from the toolbar and then on ‘Publish to Computer’ option from the dropdown list.
    In publish window:

    i) Select ‘Publish as’ - ‘HTML5 / SWF’
    ii) Select the appropriate folder path to place the published output.
    iii) Select the ‘Output Format’ as ‘SWF’.
Integrating Raptivity HTML5 output with Captivate 9

Note: Ensure that Raptivity interactivities to be integrated are published as HTML5 and all output items inside the ‘HTML5_Publish’ folder are zipped.To zip the output items:
Select all items inside the ‘HTML5_Publish’ folder -> Right-click on selected items -> Send to -> Compresses (zipped) folder

You can include Raptivity’s HTML5 output in Captivate by following these simple steps.

  • Open Adobe Captivate 9.
  • Create a ‘New’ project by selecting the ‘Blank Project’ option or open an existing project.
  • Add a ‘Blank Slide’ to insert Raptivity interactivity.
  • Click on the ‘Media’ tab from the Toolbar and then select ‘HTML5 Animation’ option from the dropdown list.
  • A dialog box will open to browse and select a file. Locate the ‘Compressed (zipped) folder’ placed inside the “HTML5_Publish” folder.
  • Select the ‘Zipped folder’ and click on Open. Raptivity interactivity will now get inserted in the slide but it can be played in Captivate’s published output only.
  • You can adjust its position by holding and dragging the interactivity box. You can also adjust its size by holding the corner of the box and dragging it.
  • Make sure you adjust the ‘Timeline’ as per the time required to play the interactivity (at the bottom center).
  • Repeat the procedure from Steps 3 to 8 to insert more Raptivity interactivities.
  • Save the project.
  • To publish it, click on the ‘Publish’ tab from the toolbar and then on ‘Publish to Computer’ option from the dropdown list.
    In publish window:

    i) Select ‘Publish as’ - ‘HTML5 / SWF’
    ii) Select the appropriate folder path to place the published output.
    iii) Select the ‘Output Format’ as ‘HTML5’.
Inserting Raptivity HTML5 output with Captivate 9 Responsive Project

The steps are same as given above for integrating Raptivity’s HTML5 output with Captivate, however following two points need to be considered.

  • Ensure that Raptivity interactivities to be integrated are published as HTML5 output with specific target view size. The default size of Raptivity published output is 715 X 500 pixels.

        a. To customize the size, click the ‘Publish’ icon on Raptivity tool bar and then select ‘HTML5’.

        b. A publish window will open, inside that, select the ‘Interaction Size’ as ‘Customized’ and then enter width and height in         pixels. The recommended publishing sizes for few specific devices are listed below:

            i) Desktop: As per user’s screen resolution.
            ii) iPad: 1024 x 716 pixels.
            iii) Galaxy Tab 3 : 1024 x 716 pixels.
            iv) iPhone 4S: 458 X 320 pixels.
            v) iPhone 5: 915 X 640 pixels.
  • Once interactivity is published, ensure that all output items inside the ‘HTML5_Publish’ folder are zipped.
    To zip the output items: Select all items inside the ‘HTML5_Publish’ folder -> Right-click on selected items -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder
Integrating Raptivity’s Flash output with Captivate 5/Captivate 8

Note: Follow these instructions for the interactivities published with single file output. 

You can easily create interactivity using Raptivity and include it in your Captivate using following simple steps:

  • Using Raptivity, publish the interactivity as single file output.
  • Download Animation WIDGET from http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/files/2010/11/AnimationWidget.zip url and Unzip/Extract it.
  • Start Adobe Captivate® 5/Captivate 8.
  • Create a New Project by selecting the “Blank Project” option.
  • After selection of the Animation Widget, a popup will appear. Provide Raptivity’s SWF file name with the extension in textbox of opened popup window and click on OK.
    NOTE: Raptivity Published SWF file should be in same folder of Captivate published file.
  • In Widget property pane of name “Position & Size” (at bottom right hand side), modify X and Y coordinate as 10 and 10 or we may align as per our requirement.
  • Make sure you adjust the timeline as per the time required to play the sound of the interactivity (at bottom center).
  • Now add a “Blank Slide” and repeat the same procedure from Step 3 to step 6.
  • Finally save the project and publish it by clicking on menu File > Publish.
    In publish window
    i) Click on Flash (SWF) at top left corner.
    ii) Give appropriate Folder path to place publish output.
    iii) Check “Export To HTML” checkbox and click on Publish button.
    NOTE: Final Published output file and SWF file both should be in same folder.
Integrating Raptivity’s HTML5 output with Captivate 8
  • Using Raptivity, publish the interactivity as HTML5 output.
  • Open the Captivate 8 project blank slide in which the HTML5 output can be inserted.
  • On the tool strip click select HTML5 animation.
  • Browse for ‘HTML5_Publish’ folder of Raptivity inside Publish folder , zip ‘HTML5_Publish’ folder and click on open.
  • Preview and Publish the project.
Inserting Raptivity HTML5 output in Captivate 8 using RWD:
  • Publish Raptivity IM as HTML5 with specific Target view size*.
  • Open the HTML5_publish folder, select all the files together and zip those.
  • Open Captivate 8
  • Select New Project >> Responsive Project
  • Go to Media and select HTML5 Animation
  • Browse for the HTML5 publish folder of interactivity which has zipped in step 2.
  • Finally Insert it, do the adjustments in Captivate screen and Publish

*Note:

  • For different views of Captivate 8(Primary/Tablet/Mobile), following target view sizes can be used in Raptivity while publishing:
    • Primary : As per user’s screen resolution.
    • Tablet : 715*500
    • Mobile: 715*500
    The inserted Raptivity interaction can be adjusted as per the required view.
  • To view an interaction perfectly in all three views (Primary/Tablet/Mobile), published Raptivity interactions in relevant Target View Sizes need to be added in Captivate separately.
  • When a Raptivity interaction is added in any view size in Captivate, it will be visible by default in the other two views too and needs to dragged to the scrap area manually in order to make it non visible.
Integrating Raptivity output in Multi SCORM utility of Captivate

We need to do small modifications in Raptivity output (steps given below) before using it with Captivate’s Multi-SCORM utility.

  • Publish Raptivity output (Html5 or Flash) in one of SCORM format (SCORM 1.2 or 2004)
  • Open the publish folder.
  • From the published folder, open the file called “imsmanifest.xml” in edit mode.
  • In the file, Find the entry having href as .html page. For e.g.:-
    <resource identifier="Resource1" adlcp:scormType="sco" type="webcontent" href="OnePage.html">
         <file href="OnePage.html" />
       </resource></pre>
    Note: The name of html page will be same as name given to your Interactivity. In this example the name is 'OnePage.html'.
  • Cut this resource tag entry from the current location and paste it at the end of page just before
    </resources>
    Save the file.
  • Now for creating zip folder, select all files in the publish folder and zip them.

Following are steps to integrate Raptivity output in Multi-SCORM utility in Captivate 8.

  1. Open Captivate, in File menu under New Project, click on the “Multi SCORM Packager” option.
  2. Now it will show few template options. You can select any of the given option (most useful options is “Multiple SCOs”).
  3. A Course Manifest Details window will appear, fill the required details and click on “ok”.
  4. Now the course is created, we can upload SCORM packages. Here, there is an option to add file. Click on add file and browse the zip folder created previously and insert into this course.
  5. One can repeat above step to upload multiple packages as per requirement.
  6. After uploading is done, click on publish.
  7. Publish window will appear. Here select location to publish the output and click on publish button. We get a zip folder ready to upload to the LMS.
Using Raptivity output with Lectora

Note: Follow these instructions for the interactivities published with single file output. 

You can easily create interactivity using Raptivity and include it in your Lectora using following simple steps:

Using Raptivity, publish the interactivity as single file output.

  • Open a Lectora project. You can open a blank template and Save it or you can use an existing template.
  • Click ‘Add’ from the main menu and follow Add --> Object --> Animation.
  • Click ‘Browse’ under ‘Animation’ to select the flash file which is to be inserted in the slide. It will be available under Raptivity published output folder. You can give a name to this animation under the heading 'Animation Name' in the 'Animation Properties' window.
  • To publish Raptivity interaction, click Publish --> Publish to HTML from the main menu.
  • Click ‘Publish’ on the window named ‘Publish Title to HTML’.
  • The published output will be saved in the default folder. Click ‘Ok’ to continue.
  • Click ‘Done’ to continue.
  • Raptivity interaction has been successfully integrated, click ‘Preview’ to view the final output.
